Harness the Power of Positive Thinking for Self-Improvement

CHANGE

In order for any individual to reach their full potential, (be all they can be) we must change the way we think about ourselves. Using positive self-talk can change the way we think and feel. By changing what we say when we listen to our inner voice, and talk in our mind.

We must look at positive things, talk about positive things, and think about positive things if we want to reach our potential.

I understand that bad things will happen, and when they happen, I need to use positive self-talk, for when I am positive, my life starts to improve. Change is a gradual process that begins when you start thinking and acting positive.

Self-Talk:

  • Start with Positive Self-Talk
  • Eliminate Negative Thoughts and Emotions
  • Put Positive Thoughts into our Minds

The Impact of Good and Bad Stress: Personal Insights and Strategies

GOOD STRESS & BAD STRESS

Stress has certainly played it’s role in my life, given the problems it has caused. Stress can interfere with normal living, and damage your physical and mental health. When I am feeling stressed everything seems to be too much for me to deal with. I have had several health problems associated with stress such as:

  • High Blood Pressure
  • Increased Heart Rate
  • Sleeplessness
  • Muscle Aches and Pains, Tense
  • Heart Attack Symptoms
  • Poor Concentration
  • Inability to Get Things Done

I had a negative response to challenges due to certain personal issues, which eventually had a negative effect on my health and happiness.

I now recognize stress, and self-treat stress by doing the following:

  • Exercise
  • Nutrition
  • Relaxation Techniques
  • Stress Management Techniques
  • Going to School (Learning)
  • Writing

I have learned the difference between good stress and bad stress. The good stress gets you energized, makes you take action, it actually improves performance, increases alertness, and motivates you to get things done.

Today I have taken steps towards achieving my goals personally, educationally, financially, and socially. I have taken the opportunity to write my beliefs, values, goals, and mission statement in these journals, to reflect on the positive, and forget the negative.

Unleashing Success through Self-Belief: Empowerment and Growth

Self-Beliefs

Beliefs are the assumptions we have about ourselves, about others and about how we want things to be. Our beliefs and other people’s beliefs about us either positive or negative have a influence on how we behave.

Negative beliefs about ourselves influence our behavior. If I believe that I cannot find a job, then I will not be able to find a job. Positive beliefs enable us to focus on what we need to do to accomplish something such as finding a job.

If we change our beliefs we will change our behavior, and if we change our behavior, we will change our life. Self-belief is the foundation of success. We develop our self-belief little by little.

Improving our self-belief by recognizing our good qualities, and understanding our talents and abilities. Do what makes you happy, and encourage yourself to make the most of what life has to offer.

  • Self-belief is the confidence and respect for our own abilities
  • Circumstances do not change our self-beliefs
  • I make my  own decisions
  • I feel good about myself
  • I have the power to change myself

Innovative Fire Drill

The Fire Drill

“By the time I am sixty I will be able to wear a bikini, so as the male’s pass by they will say that I am a toothpick, and some may even say that I am thin as ice.”

Toothpicks and the Ice Stand

There were toothpicks in the center of the table wanting to be used as the day progressed for the wedding taking place, but no one was very interested in the toothpicks just sitting there, not being used and feeling lonely. There were a lot of entertainment music, raffles, presents, and dancing, but those toothpicks were still just sitting there, sad, feeling so lonely, rejected. There was this man sitting at his table without talking to anyone, just watching everyone, looking at the toothpicks, he would pick up the toothpicks, look at them and then put them back down, finally as he was looking at the toothpicks, a thought hit him, and then once again he picked up the toothpicks and this time started jabbing at the ice with the toothpicks, and then he decided to build a stand with the toothpicks to place the ice on top of. The project took this guy awhile to make because the stand was time consuming, and he used about one thousand toothpicks, but finally he finished the stand and then he placed the ice on the toothpicks, and he would just stare at the project he had been working on for approximately two hours, and then it hit him to put a toothpick on top of the ice with a bikini on top of the toothpick, like a flag. When this poor guy was completed with his creation, he ordered a drink and sat there smiling to himself, proud that he created the toothpicks and the ice stand, with a bikini on top of the toothpick.

Exploring Your Heritage: Overcoming Challenges

Ancestors

Have you been looking for your family ancestors? Have you thought about your heritage, your roots, where and when it all began?

I have been trying to trace back my roots, and ancestors, and I have found that it is a difficult project, time consuming, and costs money, that is why I created this post, to not only gain the insight needed to accomplish this task, but also to offer suggestions to those of you facing the very same issues that I have faced, so that our efforts together bring great results.

I selected the name ancestors in the atic because of the book, “flowers in the attic” for which I read the whole series by V.C. Andrews long time ago. When I was younger I really did not think that much about ancestors, and just enjoyed my life and friends. As I got older then the value of ancestors have set in my mind, and I decided to trace my family ancestors back.

It is a good idea to gather as much information from your parents and other family members first, then start the journey of researching your ancestors. One of the biggest challenges is the fact that so many people have the same names, and I have found during my research that even some of the same names for siblings as well.

Happy Blogging!
